DNA Discovery Center
Now Open!

DNA is the thread that connects all life, but what do you really know about it? In this new permanent exhibition, discover what DNA is, how it works, and what it can tell us about all life on Earth—including ourselves. Look into a real lab to see evolutionary biologists from around the world using state-of-the-art equipment to conduct groundbreaking genetic research dedicated to the understanding and protection of the world's biodiversity. And at dedicated times during the day, you can even ask researchers questions about experiments happening before your eyes. Hands-on interactive displays guide you through each step of DNA analysis taking place in the lab, and help you discover the microscopic details of DNA—right here, at The Field Museum.

This exhibition is generously supported by the Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Foundation. We gratefully acknowledge The Pritzker Foundation's generous support of the Pritzker Laboratory for Molecular Systematics and Evolution. We express our appreciation to Misty and Lewis Gruber for establishing an endowment in support of research in the Pritzker Laboratory.
